John Guadagno has been promoted from Sales Director to Brand Director for PlasticsToday. John has been a key player in developing new digital solutions for PlasticsToday customers. John joined the PlasticsToday team in 2008 and was responsible for the launch of the PlasticsToday daily email newsletter, NewsFeed, as well as several other digital media products. He has over 12 years of B2B media experience with expertise in SEO, website marketing, database marketing and email marketing.
Tony Deligio has been promoted to the role of Content Director for PlasticsToday. Starting with Injection Molding Magazine in 2000, Tony Deligio has been covering the global plastics processing industry for more than a decade, with writing and reporting experience over that time with Plastics Machinery & Auxiliaries, Modern Plastics Worldwide, and PlasticsToday. Tony has been instrumental at PlasticsToday in building quality products that are resonating with the audience.
PlasticsToday has also added on three new contributing editors to its Content Team: Doug Smock, Karen Laird, and Debbie Sniderman, bringing the total number of its regular contributors to 13. Karen Laird is based out of the Netherlands and her professional experience includes current work in PR and marketing at People Creating Value, as well as acting as the editor/publisher at Laird Publishing, and the chief editor/assistant publisher at Media Business Press. She is a longtime veteran of the plastics industry, and reports on all things sustainability related in her weekly Green Matters column.
Debbie Sniderman’s Renewable Report is PlasticsToday’s new weekly column on renewable energy and alternative energy, covering opportunities in this growing field for plastics processors. Debbie writes for, owns, and acts as a consultant with VI Ventures, an R&D and manufacturing consulting company for renewable energy products and technologies.

Los Angeles, CA (January 7, 2011) – MD+DI (Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry), MPMN (Medical Product Manufacturing News), and OrthoTec, UBM Canon’s Medical Device Media Group leading brands today announced session topics for the upcoming virtual event, Design Trends: Technological Advances in Implantable Devices on January 26, 2011, from 11am until 5pm Eastern time. Registration is now available.
This combined virtual conference and tradeshow offers attendees the opportunity to learn from and interact directly with industry experts and technology providers in the implantable medical device industry. This topic-specific, focused environment is available directly from virtually anywhere an attendee has computer online access.
The virtual conference will kick-off with a keynote address by Venkat Rajan, Industry Manager at Frost & Sullivan for Medical Devices. MD+DI Releases 2010 Medical Device Industry Salary Survey as Part of Year in Review
Los Angeles, CA (December 1, 2010) – The leading brand of UBM Canon’s Medical Device Media Group, MD+DI (Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry), today announced the release of its “Industry Yearbook,” a comprehensive look at the medical device industry over the course of 2010. The issue contains the 2010 Salary Survey, an annual feature that always ranks near the top of the “most read” list. In addition to analysis and commentary, the survey article includes an assessment of industry salaries for 2010.
The “Industry Yearbook” features are included in the current MD+DI December print issue, as well as online (http://www.mddionline.com/). CHINA MEDICAL DEVICE MANUFACTURER (CMDM)
Los Angeles, CA (October 18, 2010) – Today, Canon Communications LLC announced the appointment of Helen Zhang to the position of Associate Editor for China Medical Device Manufacturer (CMDM). Part of Canon’s Medical Device Media Group brand portfolio, CMDM serves the rapidly growing China medical device technology industry. The appointment is part of a strategic commitment to the China medtech market as well as a growing presence for Canon Communications’ media brands in the Asia/Pacific region.
Zhang, located in Canon’s Beijing office, is fully bilingual with an editorial background centered on writing for China’s business-to-business markets across various industries. She will be reporting on China’s rapidly growing supplier base serving the indigenous medical technology industry. She will also oversee an extensive redesign of cmdm.com, which will incorporate several features that will allow the China-based medtech community to interact in multiple new ways and access a number of problem-solving resources. The comprehensive online suppliers directory and insightful technical articles that are the hallmarks of the current site will be expanded. These new initiatives will be launched in 2011.

Zhang is a graduate of Nankai University and was enrolled in an MBA program at the University of Miami in the United States.
